Hi!

I’m Izan, a Mathematician and Software/ML Engineer based in Barcelona.

I currently work as an ML Engineer at Smadex. Check out my CV for previous work.

I hold both a BSc and MSc in Mathematics from UPC (MSc focused on computer science). I love maths, computer science and machine learning, and I share some interesting stuff about them in my posts.

I’ve also spent a lot of time doing problem solving and participating in programming competitions, like the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2019), the ICPC-SWERC (2020 – 2022), and many others.

Outside math and computers, I have many other interests, like:

• Cinema (In the Mood for Love, Memento, Snatch, 12 Monkeys, In the Name of the Father, Trainspotting, The Leftovers, Cowboy Bebop… and many others)
• Music (rock, jazz, techno, classical, dance, rap… and more! Recommendations are welcome. Also slowly learning to play piano)
• Cooking (probably correlated to enjoying eating tasty stuff, causation is hypothesized)
• Politics, economics, history and philosophy (more questions than answers)
